Welcome Jester!

Jester is a rescued black lab mix who just finished the New Leash on Life program...a program that finds/rescues dogs and then partners with the prison system to train inmates how to train dogs. He just graduated from a 10 week obedience program at Eastern Correctional Institute in Eastern NC and comes to us somewhat command trained, house trained, crate trained, and a very sweet dog. He will be staying with my parents for the next 3-4 weeks until we make the move to Knoxville.

Andrew and I went to his graduation ceremony :-) It's a really special program. One of the inmates shared that this is one way they are able to give back to society during a time in their life when it's virtually impossible to make any positive contributions. There is very little chance these dogs would have been adopted by anyone and ultimately would probably have been euthanized. Now they are ready to be adopted by families (and it's a great deal!) and most are taken in.
