Hi! We're in the middle of a half-day respite from a week out in the field. We'll be leaving again in a few hours for another week in the villages. This past week was wonderful for us in many ways. Though there were some difficult times of trying to figure out our place and how to help the team we were with from Ohio, we learned much about ourselves and about God. We've been able to have some amazing conversations with folks who have been here much longer than us and we've seen some of the amazing opportunities there are in Mozambique for development and for churches. We actually slept in a tent for the past week in this village because we wanted to stay together and girls and guys were split up otherwise. No electricity and outdoor bathrooms were good for us! (though also challenging at times :-) This next week we will be the only 2 non-Mozambican residents so hopefully we'll have even more opportunities to see deeply into the reality of people's lives here. Thanks so much for your continued prayers...we covet them during these next 3 weeks! (pic 1 is of a dental clinic we did in the village...bet you didn't know Spencer and I could be doctors over here :-), pic 2 is from a kid's group we were teaching with the team from Ohio, and pic 3 is of us in the village).

hey hey right back at you. sounds like the Lord has kinda thrown you into the goodole refining pot of fire. (as per usual)...hehe.
but talk about mr. & mrs. total package--good job wearing all those hats: dentists, eh? who knew.
...and teachers. and tentmakers--well, literally ;) i'm sure you stayed up every night and told ghost stories. perhaps some good news is that you'll never have to become a plumber with the outdoor water closets. :o)
...so...have you held your bowling clinics yet?
props to your little friend who didn't chop off your heads in the pic. he's a quick learner :o)
lovins.
