Feeling better

hey friends,

i (spencer) have been feeling pretty rotten, but by the Lord's grace, i am feeling better today. i took cipro last night, and there was a war in my body for a couple hours ... had lots of chills, fever, and wanted to throw up. but, i was able to keep it down with the help of many folks praying, and the cipro seems to have cleansed my stomach much. i feel much better today.

we had some great time with pastors yesterday. one of the key things that we are learning is that foreign missions groups often do a pitiful job meeting with the local church and submitting to them. they told us that we were the first that had ever contacted them to sit down, get to know one another and listen to their hearts and difficulties. they shared that they felt free to be honest with us, which was very encouraging to us. the realities of mozambique are tough. there are physical needs everywhere. all pastors request funds for dozens of projects, and i canñot say that any of them are frivolous ... they are core needs. the tough thing has been to pray about how to partner without creating financial dependence and to think about what the Lord is doing and how we can undergird what is already going on.

please pray that my health continues to improve and that our traveling to Pemba goes well (travelling today and tomorrow).
