Happy New Year! We just got back from Knoxville yesterday afternoon and got settled back into Boston. Class starts tomorrow (World Mission of the Church), and it is a week long intensive. We looking forward to it very much, as Dr. Tennett is a tremendous teacher.
Holidays were great times for us (thanks to all our fam!). Lots of great food, a memorable whiffleball game, settlers games, some golf, and Emily bowling a 176 to obliterate my score and pride (she only beat me by 57:) The picture is of "Team Winner" as they called themselves (as opposed to dad and I being on the other team).
I'm (Spencer) starting to read The Fortune at the Bottom of the Pyramid - which has been enjoyable in the sense of thinking about redemption through the business world in ways that aren't solely focused on salvation in Christ. Of course, I still believe that preaching the Gospel and praying for people's salvation is the primary goal, but creation longs for redemption and is struggling under the fall. As we have opportunity to aid people in a multiplicity of ways, they get a taste of hope and a taste of the restoration that is to come.
