Andrew has always been a sweet kid, but as all kids with siblings do, he has had to learn the hard way (by having a sister) that everything is common property and not "his." It makes my heart so happy when I see him voluntarily sharing with kaitlyn or hugging on her/trying to make her laugh, or even more importantly when she is upset and he jumps in to tell her not to cry and that she'll be ok. (these things do not happen all the time, but are super sweet when they do). Today though, he went beyond the walls of his own house to reach out to a little boy who currently weighs 1.3 pounds (born 5 days ago at 26 weeks). Little Andrew is the son of our plumber who was here fixing a huge septic problem below our house. When I told my Andrew about little Andrew and how sick he is and how much we need to pray for him, he bowed his head right then and there and started praying. Then he went over to our 'give away' toy box and said we should give him something out of there. I suggested he give him one of his little cars rather than the toys we're giving away so he picked one out for him. He was so excited to give it to Lawrence to take home to little Andrew and I was so proud of him for caring. Little steps towards our prayer that God will make him a caring and compassionate person who loves well.
